Sound of exhaust

Well I have some money now so I am lookin for exhaust. I searched for a comparison between cat-backs and haven't been able to find what I'm lookin for.Here's my question...which exhaust system sounds the loudest? I love the sound of engines and to me the sound is a TINY bit more appealing than hp. Don't get me wrong, hp is a top priority but I like my sound too So if some one could let me know which is the loudest and cleanest sounding that would be great. I've heard a sound file of the Borla but I haven't yet heard the magna flow.

The ONLY good loud sounding exhaust is from a V8! Four bangers sound like an angry swarm of bees. imo

(removed), don't worry, my mom will just take the ticket money out of my bank...I have a secret stash with $400 in it in my room for my own personal spending money that she doesn't know about. She wouldn't let me get exhaust. My dad is going to order it for me though and I'll give him the cash. The way I see it, it's not like I'm blowing all my money because I put half of everything I get in the bank and the other half I keep for gas and what ever. So this is what I've saved and now it's time to reward myself

I think the Borla's exhaust is a little deeper soud but it might have been the video I took either way they are about the same.

The Magnaflow cat back in my opinion is the nicest sounding outside. It is almost as quiet as stock inside. I just swapped from my Flowmaster setup to the Mag. The Flow 60 series is decently loud outside as well as inside. All depends on whether you want to hear it more or whether you would rather (removed) off the neighbors.

But yeah that clip convinced me, I think I'll go with the Magna flow. Good choice, I just got mine a few days ago. Now i just need to find the time to install it.BTW, I told my wife the exhaust is necessary preventive maint., since I just had to replace the tail pipe on a 12yr old Explorer....I'd hate to have to do all that work on a rusted Vibe exhaust. With the Magnaflow it will never rust.....No she didn't buy that argument.

I tried to slip the old exhaust excuse by my mom too "Mom, I have to buy this, it will cut back on emitions and inprove gas millage!" (removed) that didn't work...but I'm buying it anyways

Almost makes me glad I'm getting divorced. Don't have to justify anything I do to my GT lol.Remember having to do it with my last car when I got dual exhaust and cross-drilled rotors w/carbon fiber brake pads:I used the rust and gas mileage excuse for the exhaust.Used the safety and "it's the same price as the OEM replacements" excuse for the brakes heh.

why do you have to justify what you spend your personal money on? I understand when you're married you both put money towards things and you both have your own personal savings don't you? If and when I get married my personal money is going where I want it to go.

If and when I get married my personal money is going where I want it to go.lol! easier said than done, my young friend! usually when you get married (and note on usually) money is tight. you may not have a lot to just spend on frivilous items such as car things.... like a house, rent, furniture, etc.... plus weddings are expensive! if you both work then maybe you can put some money aside for your own fun money as i used to call it. but i can say didn't have much of that so it all went to pay bills, rent, food, etc. everything costs money right? so what's more important? food for the table or an exhaust for the car?it amazed me how fast money added up for just simple things..

Depends on who you marry, if she is a car girl, she won't mind heh. She might insist on an exhaust system or even her own car to modify... lol is that a dream or what?

Even if money was tight I'm sure I'd be able to put more money aside for spending than I make at my job now lol. My wife would have to accept the fact that cars mean everything to me and not get in my way I'd rather marry a car. The way I see it, cars wont ever cheat on you or leave you. If you take care of them, they will allways be there for you lol

It is quiet when I want it quiet and it is loud when I want it loud. And it comes with a round exhaust tip and not oval like a lot of the Borla's do. I am not a big fan of oval tips. Magnaflow Good.

Did you just buy some metal tubing, weld it to the cat, then add your coice of a muffler? How much did you spend? Have you had it dynoed so you can compare its power to what complete commercial systems will produce?
