A friend of mine got in a fight with his ex (They aren't even going out and they still fight like they're married) and since she's mad at him (I'm not even involved other than being there for buying her lunch) she keys up MY car!!!! GOD I'm so mad! >: ( !!!!!!!!!!!
She's broke and can't pay for anything, and it'd go against every moral fiber in my body to lay a hand on a female. I have 6-7 girls that say they want to jump her for me but that still doesn't seem right >.OAny suggestions of how to get my paint fixed? She was also considerate enough to key up one of my taillight's -_-
sorry, but broke or not... you need to let her know that it's not ok. i'd slap her w/ a police report for property damage and then i'd sue her... so it can sit on her credit and she can think about it next time she gets pissed off. i have no sympathy for people like that who think they can destroy other peoples things or property.
Sounds like a spoiled brat that's never been shown consequence. Bust her A$$ and get paid or give her 1 day to make amends before hand. Maybe her mom will bail her out. Don't believe a word she says or accept payments. She probably feels empowered at the moment. Take her down.

File and charge man, thats property damage. You can't go easy one someone just cause she has no money. Yes I agree, DON'T hit a girl, but you can hit her hard with paperwork and lawsuits. And inform her to key HIS car next time... how was keying your car suppose to get back at him?

I can understand that but still she needs to be taught a lesson. You can't go around doing crap like that. She brought on upon herself.Like they say you make your bed you sleep in it (or something like that)Good luck and keep us posted.Sam

I'm reeeaaaalllllyyyyy tempted to go after her car and do a full job, joyride, then slash the tires, pour paint thinner and balogna all over the body, key it up, and break the glass and just leaving it in the ghetto, but that wouldn't get my car fixed at all. I must be going soft in my old age for not taking any direct action other than reporting her sorry (removed)
I know, was just thinking of how much I've changed in the past 3 years. I know what I would have done if it happened when I was 16, but now I think the best route is the legal one. I guess I'm just bnot the same person as before, for better or for worse, probably better.

Honestly, If you have a problem with someone take it up with them face to face instead of cowardly messing with their property, it's stupid, immature, un-called for and plus it's just dirty. Some people need to grow up!

I remember I had the world by the (removed) then, (or so i thought) growing up, aint it a pain being responsible. but you feel much better after not spending the night in jail.
Hate to hear that happening! Very painful, especially when you had nothing to do with it.My old roommate had the door kicked in on his then 2-month old '00 Sentra by his girlfriend's psychotic ex...He filed the police report several hours after the fact, and was able to get his car fixed. He even got the hood repainted out of the deal, had a few rock chips, all paid for by the psycho.

I think keying a car is justified enough to beat the (removed) out of her. I wouldn't give a sh*t if it was the head of the Japanese maffia that did it....if you screw with cars you deserve to be punished. Some girl hit my door with hers and i blew up and scared her. I was pissed because there's a reason why I park in the back of the school parking lot and that reason is to stay away from idiots in their '88 oldsmobiles that don't give a sh*t about their own cars so they think it is up to destroy other people's cars that they take pride in.
Man am I sorry to hear about this. It sucks twice as much because you had nothing to do with this to deserve having your car keyed. I'd say file a report too, and do it quickly. The longer you wait to report it, the less the police can do to help you. BUT (and this but is even bigger than mine ) there are a few other things to consider. Let's take a little walk and step inside Stang's Courtroom and talk with Judge Brandon. LOL.Judge Brandon says:1.) Someone has to have witnessed the damage being done to the car AND be willing to tell the police what they saw AND be able to identify who did the damage. OR, if she's dumb enough, she would have to admit that she did it to the cops herself.2.) If you have comprehensive insurance coverage on your car (which I'd be willing to bet that you do), then they will cover the repairs on the car as an act of vandalism even if you can't prove or don't know who did it. But you will have to pay your deductible.3.) Reporting it to the police is always going to be the best option for this case. If she goes ballistic again later and even if it can't be proven that she damaged your car, it will make the cops more suspicious of her and help bring her down in the future. It will probably be best to work with the cops and your insurance company on this one. If the cops can prove that she did it, they can get a court order for her to pay for the damage. Even if she can't pay it, having an order against her can leverage her to pay it. Next time she goes to the mall and goes to ring up those new clothes, jewelry, and whatever other junk she may buy, you could make one of those "priceless" commercials about the look on her face when all her credit cards come back DENIED. Also, if she is under 18, depending on your state laws, they may be able to force her parents to pay for it.4.) Best case scenario is that you file the claim with the police and your insurace, insurance pays to fix the car, and the cops get a judgement against her to compensate you for your loss. If you get your insurance to pay to fix it and she actually pays the damages, the money will go directly to the insurance co. Also, the insurance co is going to WANT very much to get that money from her and will pressure the police and the local court system to see things in their (and your) favor. If somehow she is made to pay up, you should also get your deductible refunded.Best of luck to you in getting this resolved, I really hope things work out for you and they make this little punk pay for what she did. But remember, the longer you wait to report this, the weaker your case becomes. The first 48 hours after the incident are often the most important, so the clock is ticking.

I agree with Stang2Vibe except it would be easiest for you if you could just get her to pay QUICKLY. Your not her dad and I doubt she would learn anything from the police. People like this have a way of rationalizing anything they do. Bust her if she don't pay. Just get it taken care of in the whichever way is best for you. If the repair is under a grand I doubt the ins. co. will bother to follow up on her unless you do, even is she's charged. Kicking her (removed) would just lower you to her level.

I would move heaven and earth to make sure it got repaired at her own expense. It makes me pissed when somebody scratches my car on accident, and I have an extreme psychotic hatred of anybody who messes with another persons automobile on purpose.

Redlava, you and I need to get togather and go on a rampage against people that damage cars. I too have a hatred for car abusers...my friends used to be like "hey wanna go out tonight and steal people's brake lights or paintball some cars?" and I would respond "You guys are f*cking stupid grow up and realize the money value and sentimental value some of these cars hold. Respect cars. If you touch mine I'll kill you" They stopped stealing brake lights and never did paintball cars after I had my words with them.
