Transport of Kayak or Canoe on rood rack?

Post by new »

I am thinking of buying a vibe and don't want to get an SUV. But was concerned that the roof rack is too short to transport kayaks or canoes can anyone offer any insight or experiences in this matter. Have looked at Thule and Yakima rack systems online but wondered if they are really strong enough and provide a wide enough base of support. Does anyone have any pictures??

welcome to genvibe!and yes, you can carry a canoe or kayak on the vibe. as silver's already suggested, you'd want to add some additional support to help keep it on there. i know there is a pic of some others w/ kayaks or canoes on theirs. i'll have to find them.
