New Illinois License Plate

Post by MJN2 »

Just got these in the mail today. Was time to get rid of the personalized plates I had, since they no longer applied (i.e. getting divorced, and the old plates referred to my soon to be ex and I).Anyway, got these new special edition plates. Let me know what y'all think.

Cool! I didn't know you guys had that plate, first time I've seen it! Does it have a mix of embossed and screened-on characters? (I'm a license plate junkie, although I have only one in my colelction, the other is on my car!) I'd like to see some different special interest plates here in Indiana, some of ours have remained unchanged for a decade or so, while the standard issues get redone every 4-5 years.

Everything except for the actual license plate number is screened on.They are pretty new plates. The number on mine is low 4-digit, so I'm thinking not many people have them yet.One thing I liked about these when I ordered them, is that $25 of the cost goes to the Sept 11th Relief Fund.

I would hope other states have come up with their own versions though. As for Michigan having those plates - Michigan already has some cool plates. I love the Mackinac Bridge plates y'all have.

The way our governor is cutting cost ---When you get your next plate --you will get a marks-a-lot and a piece of cardboard.

Very cool plate! NY has some different plates too, although not really in the same vein as those. They are basically all variations off the same couple themes. They charge an arm and a leg for them too, something like $25 a year! Ouch!
