Well, after arguing with, then finally having to take a copy of the TSB for the cladding to show to the service manager, the cladding on my GT is getting replaced today. Had a pretty funny conversation with the tech writer about the loaner they gave me to drive:Me (looking at the key tag of loaner car): A Daewoo??Tech: yepMe (looking at tag again): A Daewoo station wagon?!?Tech: Would you rather have a bicycle?Me: If I could pedal it at 55mph, yeah(tech laughs)Anyway, I'll snap some pics when I get the car back

Due to the sandblasted look, it was definitely several shades of gray lighter than what the non-damaged sections are. That and the strips of molding around the cladding was turning brown and starting to crack a bit.

Well, my car is ready, finally. Was told that it would only take a couple of hours, but they didn't have enough clips. So, instead of a couple of hours, it took a couple of days (dropped the car off Monday afternoon). But, I'll be picking my car up on my way home from work and getting rid of this Daewoo POS they gave me to drive. Yay!!

Picked up my car. And it's going right back to the dealer tomorrow. Driver's side rocker panel isn't on quite all the way, the thin molding around both wheel wells on the driver's side isn't on right, and there is about a 4 inch scratch on the passenger side rocker panel molding, that is deep enough that it's through the textured surface. This is really starting to $*(% me off.

yep: join the crowd. These *******es at the dealers are indeed pathetic. I'm just 1500 miles away from never having to deal with them again on my Vibe. This week, we are riding around with a piece of cladding missing from the rear door. Two attempts were not enough for the ignorant dealer who again, ordered the wrong part, with not enough clips. Yes, so many people have had their cladding replaced, that there are not enough clips available. We called the managers and screamed. 3 visits, and the job still is not done right. You would think these idiots would open the packages from supply to ensure they got the right part before calling the customer, but noooooo........
Well, just back from the dealer (again). The tech felt really bad about the issues with the cladding. So much so that he is going to fix the annoying damn vibration in my dash, even though Pontiac told him not to when I took it in for it a couple of months ago.Plus, they are replacing my DVD/NAV head unit, because some of the black paint on some of the buttons is chipping off.At least they are trying to make it right, I guess.

FINALLY got my Vibe back last night. All the cladding is on....it didn't fall off on the way back from the dealer. When I went to check the dealer's work (to include installing a new rear seat belt), I noticed their usual pathetic work: when I unbolted the seats to check why the seat belt had been installed backwards, I noticed that one of the belt latches came off in my hand. It was never reattached to the floor through the bolt. That's the latch my daughter rode home in last night. Only 1,000 more miles to go, and I'll never see this dealer again. If you all don't routinely do it, it often pays to check over any mechanics work to ensure they reinstalled everything properly. Once again, I have averted a disaster by doing so.
