New Grille Screens

Post by Triton »

After engine1 got his grille screens, I inquired with Cloud-Rider.com about some of the products they had. They have an excellent customer service department that was willing to send me a promotional set of these grilles to show off on our website and the Michigan Meet. They have several styles available. I am going to be getting a price list very soon and I will post it as soon as I receive it. I went with the stainless steel silver instead of the black powder coat that engine1 went with. I have a couple of pics for now that I took yesterday evening and I will take some later today with it being so sunny outside. They are extremely well made and I think the round holes look very nice with the front of the car.Pic 1:

Looks good. Do you have a pic from a bit further away, showing the entire car, kinda like your signature pic?

NICE! I got my grill inserts from Cloud Rider the other day, the same as you got there. I ordered them last month and they finally came in. I put them on my car and they look good also. No pics yet though.

I was pretty fortunate. I ordered them Tuesday 04/06 and they came yesterday. 04/08. I am highly considering getting the winter screens for the winter time. Keep all the salt and garbage out from underneath my hood. Here are some more pics I just took.Pic 3:

Mine were $120 CAD list but through my dealership I saved a few dollors since we buy all our grill accessories through them for all the trucks and such.

Aaron, I've always thought you have one of the sharpest detailed Vibes on the forum, but the grills may be a little much. Just my opinion. I photoshopped the attached pic and blacked out the top grills and left the bottoms alone. I had a chunk of ice fall off of a concrete truck this winter and hit one of my lower grills and knocked a small chunk out of it. Maybe I could order just the lower grills, or sell the top ones at the MI meet if I get a set.

I have to say, I'm probably the most anti cosmetic-mod person on these forums, but I really like those grills. It's evokes a bit of an 80's mood, but the silver keep it 21st century. (Can you tell I read a lot of interior design magazines? ) Triton, I've actually been going back to your cardomain page a few times to take additional looks at your interior mods and it's got me thinking that maybe not all cosmetic changes are a bad thing.

Thanks for the compliments Mike. I am still unsure whether or not I am going to keep them on. I too am thinking they may be a little too much. If I don't keep them, I am going to either sell them or put them in a raffle at the Michigan Meet. I am also considering getting them match painted Neptune. I'm not really sure yet though.

triton, you know i LOVE your vibe, but the grills just don't seem to match w/ the rest of it imho. the chrome just don't go w/ the wheels or anything else. maybe that's why i don't like them on yours. i cant really put a finger on it.

Aww...she loves my Vibe! I know what you mean Hope. I just don't know what it is. I'm not sure there is anything I can do with my grilles that would be better than the stock ones. I thought about the billet grilles on Ebay, but I don't know if I would like those either.

They attach with screws and brackets behind the stock grilles. Nothing permanent and no holes to drill.

Well after some consideration, I have decided that the grilles just don't go with my car. They are very nice, but they are too bright for my theme. I will probably be selling them for shipping cost only through the site in the For Sale/Wanted forum. I will post a thread tomorrow with pictures and a price. IM me if you are interested in them.

Keely, seeing those on your abyss promted me to order a set of my own today. I also ordered reflective dark red flame decals that come off the vibe badges on the doors. I have a red pinstripe on each side, so I'm hoping it'll look cool.BTW....I haven't posted on here forever....nice to be back

Personally, I like the billet steel grills the best. The grills you have on do look exceptionally well-made from the close-up pic, I just don't care too much for the design, the circles IMO don't really go with much, and they tend to throw your Vibe's design scheme askew.BTW, Every time I see the word Triton, or your Vibe, I'm strangely reminded of Neo, from The Matrix. Anyone else reminded of this, or am I just a crazy Jap?
