Rice Rice Baby,..Sorry couldn't resist. I meant the spoiler in all though. I don't care about this replacing the Cavalier but I hate seeing the Sunfire go. (I know I'm probably the only one! )

I like the new Colbalt SS. I seen one at the NAIAS. It looked awesome in blue!

Looks pretty. If I were to get a car called "Cobalt", I'd HAVE to get it with blue-white bolts of lightning arcing all throughout the blue background.

I'm also anxiously awaiting to see how these turn out. The styling kind of reminds me of my old 97 Z-24.I read somewhere that the Cobalt is based on a Daewoo, but I don't think it is. Does anyone know for sure?

Just looks like a cleaned up version of the current Cavalier. I don't like the look of the current one, so this is a welcome change. I think the spoiler on it looks a bit goofy, though. And the Pontiac version of it looks pretty fugly, at least from that vantage point. Canada can have them. The Cobalt seems like the first new Chevy car that I actually like the look of. And the performance numbers sound pretty good, especially if you can mod from there.

The styling is too close to the Cavalier, but otherwise it sounds like a nice new small car. I like that GM is getting serious about offering some cars with some performance at less than Corvette price levels! Its nice, but I think I'd rather take my S/C Ecotec in an Ion Redline. That is, if I wouldn't have to suffer through that horrible cyclopse dash! Someone at GM, please put the guages back where they belong!

So will it be like the S/C Vibes? There will be two development units built, and everyone will wait forever... and ever...Rear wing is definitely

My guess is that its a money saving feature for right hand drive exports. This way the factory is always placing the guages and wiring in the same spot, regardless of car. The only tweek would be which way the guages angled. The cyclopse dash cars seem to be at the lower end of the market, Ion, Toyota Echo, maybe Scion? Cars that don't cost much which would encourage manufacturers to look for ways to save some $$ in building them. I could be wrong, but it just looks like cost cutting to me!

Or they are just trying goofy things to try to appeal to the younger market? They younger kids are driving those cars pretty often too. I think the cyclops dash gauges are ugly and annoying. Has zero appeal to me. And I think the Ion is a funky and cheap looking car. All the wheel choices are ugly as sin for the Ion too.

They can then say "Oh, its aimed at Generation Y who likes stuff like that." They certainly are not going to say that they are doing it to save money. Automakers keep saying they are designing this car or that car to appeal to Gen Y buyers. I think they hope if they say it enough it will become true!
