It would probably make a lot of sales for him!Has anyone mentioned to him the possibility of creating new rings for the cluster? Sometimes, all you need to do is ask and companies quickly learn people want something and make it!
YES!I still visit GenVibe periodically. I have not forgotten about my "original" family over here!

Not sure which one it was. That was aroung Jan or Feb.
Honestly? It'd probably be best if they matched either the Pontiac symbol on the steeringwheel.. or even better, the red of the dash lights! Can't wait for the red though, that'll be the kit for me! Any idea what it's gonna cost?

Excellent stuff!I went out and replaced all my frontal bulbs with the Silverstars today...i'm trying to figure out how to put in my subs without wasting space (might lose the spare).. My Mom couldn't figure out why i'm replacing stuff on the car when i've only had it since friday! I don't think I could ever explain the mind of the upgrader..Now, to find money to do it all!

quote:OH No,,, IS that red as in Lava red or Salsa red???The color is going to be closer to the Lava Red. Salsa was only sold for the Vibe. Lava is close to the red used on the Matrix. Makes more sense for them to make a Lava red dash kit. Besides the Lava red will look better in the cabin than the salsa would. The red would match the pontiac logo on the steering wheel better and also the red on the floor mats.
Well, if you look at mine, the blue is not the color of Neptune. But my interior is a lighter shade of blue than my exterior and the engine components I have are the same lighter shade. Even my dark blue reflective overlays are not as dark as the Neptune blue. That's the look I was going for though. Two shades of blue. It turned out pretty nice. I still have my brake calipers to paint yet and those will probably be the same lighter blue.

I think the blue acculaser kits were made to be an exact match to the Indigo ink matrix. I'm not sure. I think the neptune blue is darker than the Indigo ink.

I don't think the Indigo ink is lighter. I just seen one yesterday and it looked darker. Not as metallic as Neptune. Acculaser does make a darker blue. As a matter of fact, you posted a pic of it a while back slbpsi63. They call it Indigo blue. If you look at the door frame, it is closer to the blue there. That has to be Indigo Ink on a Matrix.

I remember posting the pick. I also remember how close the color match was to the indigo ink. (I also forgot how much I like those pedals. LOL) That is why I thought it was an exact color match. I wasn't aware they had two shades of blue.
I know what you mean. When I first contacted Bob, he asked what color I was looking for. I sent him an email with pics of the pedals and shift knob I had. He then told me that they had a new color coming out called Laser Blue that would match the Momo blue much better than the original blue they had. I can definately say that he was right!

Bad news guys. Bob told me today that the material he received to make the red kits did not meet their standards. So in other words no red kit will be available soon. At least they have quality standards that have to be met
quote:So in other words no red kit will be available soon. NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!Ah well..I agree with you on the "good thing for standards" though.. Hope he finds something! I really want a red kit!

Dunno..i've always had issues with any type of paint on anything.. And i'm usually too lazy to do it right..! I'd rather spend the money on something like the Acculaser (even if I have to wait..but hopefully they'll get it soon!), just so I know it'll look right over time..

I'm having my interior panels repainted to match my leather interior a little better. The body shop is working on the other parts, but this is the first test. It turned out great! it's a darker metallic red, closer to salsa than the bright red I used before.
As I mentioned in another thread, I am currently applying my own custom paint scheme, and might be willing to do it for other members of genvibe.com, depending on how it turns out. So far, it's looking awesome, thanks to a bit of experience. If I do this, I'll order one complete set of panels (including the a/c head) and begin work on that one, then have the first person I do this for ship me back their panels in the box I shipped the finished ones in, and so an and so forth. Eventually, those I do this for will have a peice of another member's Vibe
FYI- I just got an e-mail from Bob at Acculaser, still no dash kit available for Salsa. They do offer a paintable kit, but if you have to get something painted why not just pull the parts from your own dash and have them painted instead of buying a kit for $120.00?
cuase I've seen a few peple paint theirs and it looks like crap. (trdvibe not included). I would rather spend 120 for something I can throw away instead of having to order new parts for inside.
True, but i'm one of the people who wouldn't do that myself cuz I KNOW I would mess it up. I've found one place that will do a vinyl overlay in OEM colors, I'll post a link when I get home tonight. Not sure if I want to go this route but perhaps somebody here has had experience with them.
well, the prob w/ those kits is that you can't really remove them... would be more work than it's worth! if anyone is coming to the MI meet, i will try and bring a panel to show some of you guys what it looks like.... so you can tell the diff b/w pro job and amateur job. since i did both, i can tell you the pro job is much much much better!!!
hey now, mine looks pretty damned good too IMHO One of my next projects is re-painting to match my momo knob, which invariably matches my anodized blue AEM CAI. Needless to say, I am dredding this job.
aww... sorry there, christian. but as a former amatuer painter like yourself, i too thot mine looked pretty darn good. ... until the pro did it. lol. then it puts your own work to shame especially when they get that clear coat and bake it!
