XM and Nav System

Post by jbernie1 »

I am looking at getting a XM radio. Will it work with the NAV system?

Need some more info. Do you already have the Vibe? Are you ordering one?You can get a PIE adapter that'll add an Aux-in to the nav system, and connect most any of the XM units (SkiFi, Roady, Commander), but nothing will directly connect and control through the Nav system unless it's factory installed.

I have a piece from PIE called the X3, part X3-GM12. I think it was around $80 when I bought it. Plugs in behind the radio between the radio and the CD changer and adds 3 aux inputs. I have XM, Sirius, and my MP3 player connected to mine.I got mine from the xmfanstore which is now pretty much defunct. I think you can do a google search on PIE x3 and get a bunch of results.

It isn't really overkill because what they play on the channels is completely different. What I listen to depends on my mood at the time. The Sirius units have a stronger audio output than the XM as well, so it works better with my setup..

Suresure..i'll see what I can get. The PIE unit is shoved behind the glove compartment (wedged, rather).
