Okay so I didn't end up getting Salsa monotone like I wanted... but a guy cancelled his order for a Satellite while we were there and his car was apparently being built so we decided to get that one which is supposed to be here in August! We got the power package, sport package and the safety package! Woo hoo I'm so excited!!!

Sadly I ended up not being able to find a Vibe with the monotone paint...but not having it is actually saving me money I suppose. The car I'm thinking I'll get (finally found one) is the Shadow color, which AFAIK is the closest luminosity match to the gray cladding...so hopefully the plastic won't be noticed as much. But I agree about cars with plastic only on the front and rear bumpers. (The old Neons come to mind.) Talk about cheap looking.
Millster, that's a sweet Vibe you got! That's the best indication I've seen yet as to what mine will look like, and I love it. You got a great looking car. Mine's not going to be a GT because my wife needs the automatic trans, but other than that it should look like yours. Man, I love the Shadow color. I even like the name better than the rest. Thanks for the pic!
Thanks! I love the car. (I can post links to more pictures if you want.) The color's great. It blends wonderfully with the cladding so you get a monotoneish look with the durability of the plastic. No matter that it's not a GT. I test drove a base and it's got plenty of power. The auto trans is definitely a bonus.
Sounds awesome. Thanks for offering to post links to more pics -- if you don't mind, might I see some more? Yours is the only really good pic of a Shadow Vibe I've seen.
Millster: Thanks a ton! Those pics will do just fine. Wow, that car looks fantastic! You've really sold me on this color. I can't wait to see mine in person now. Great pics! And believe me, I know what you mean about the old car killing you. Mine's killing me too. It's a ten year old domestic and it's just gotta go.

Nope no monotone. I was going to order it but when this guy cancelled his and it had everything I wanted except monotone and it was coming in in August, I decided I could live without monotone. My boyfriend prefers the grey moulding anyway. And the grey doesn't look as bad with the silver as it does with some other colours. So I'm pretty pleased with it. We test drove a silver one and it was quite nice.

Cristen, similar thing happened to me. I wanted the monotone option but a car came in that was perfect except for that...plus I got (IMHO) a good deal on it so I put down a deposit. I agree with you; Satellite looks good with the gray cladding...I think it provides good contrast. Belated congrats on your order and I hope GM doesn't take a lifetime to fulfill it!
Hopefully not. As long as I am actually getting that guy's cancelled order its supposed to be here in August (rather than November or December if I had started a new order with the monotone).

They'll probably raise the price then offer an equal rebate......

Hello All,I'm new to this forum thing, so you'll have to bear with me. First off I have to thank NSimkins for that great picture of a Neptune Vibe. I've been tring very hard to find a good picture of one, this has helped me pick my Vibe's colour. I hope to be ordering it this week and maybe if everything goes well I'll get it about mid-November. I think that sounds about right for a factory ordered Vibe.I'm gonna be getting a Neptune Vibe (two-tone) w/ the Power Package, 16" Aluminum wheels, and the 200watt stereo. I'm hoping that none of these options slow it down at the factory.
Called GM Today to see what the status of my Vibe was and found out that it has already been built and if its not at the dealer by now it should be in a week or two! WOO HOO! Now to work on getting out of my lease with the Cavalier!

The salesman said that GM was only doing that for people who's leases expire in September or earlier. Mine expires in October, although my last payment on the Cavalier lease is September 6.

Hey Christen,Don't let them snow you! My lease on my Grand AM was up in Feb 2003 and they bought out the rest of mine when I got my Vibe on June 28. They bought out mine, they should buy out yours! They even sent me a postcard offering to do it! That's what made me go into the showroom.Love the V!
I am kinda confused on the wait for the Vibe or odering one for that matter. The St.Louis area has the vibe on the car lot's and more than just a few you can pretty much just choose what you want.I actually got mine by accident and did not even know what the vibe was.I seen one it had all the features and size I needed and I bought it $500 rebate and 4.9% rate.I am happy in St.Louis.
I think its different for Americans... up here, in Canada, you can't hardly even find one to test drive! I had to call a few places first before finding an automatic that I could test.

My dealer has called and my Vibe arrived yesterday! Exactly one month after I went and put a deposit on it. They weren't expecting it until August sometime. They are trying to find out if I can get out of my lease early without paying the last two months payments. I want it!!! And I want it tomorrow!! But I guess that won't happen. I haven't even gotten insurance for it yet!

That is really good news, just dont get yourself in a bind if you cant get out of your lease. The anticipation would be killing me too.If nothing else you can sit in it everynight and tell all the onlookers to get away from your car.
I won't be able to sit in it if I can't get out of my lease... the dealer said they would keep it locked up there for me until I can give back the Cavalier. But yes, the anticipation is killing me!!
