That stuff makes me angry. The government should tax the hell out of companys that do that. And I am talking about 4 times as much as they are paying now. We can't keep relying on the small business owners to keep bailing this country out of financial crisis and employment issues.

If you are for keeping jobs in this country, then buying products that are made here is essential. Its a no brainer. Now go out to buy your grandson his first wagon and you find the Radio Flyer for $69, right next to it is an identical wagon except it has these really nice pneumatic tires and pretty much equal quality to the RF for $39. Which do you buy? I ask this because it just happened to me. I find it interesting to hear freinds of mine complaining about some computer company "out sourcing" while my freind is driving a non-US made car. Hmmm. I am not passing judgement either way, since I do not understand isolationism or the global economy theory enough to have a strong opinion on it.

Small business employs about 80% of the private sector. They still generate the majority of private sector GDP as well. And successful small businesses grow. Then when they grow into big businesses, a magical thing happens. They suddenly become hated for no real reason in this country! Ohhh, ohhh, businesses are so evil, blah blah blah. Hey, when you cash your paycheck, whose account do the funds come out of? Probably a businesses' payroll account. Drive that evil business away or send it under and you're taking away your own paychecks. Dumb, dumb, dumb.JohnC, you have a good point about the jobs going overseas. When people go out shopping for those wagons, most are going to buy the cheaper one regardless of where it was made. Prices are the biggest factor that drives American consumer choices in the market. If the American one is priced so that it can't compete, people won't buy it. So in actuality, it is the American consumer who is the one to blame. It doesn't require understanding of some advanced economic theories to know why the market works the way it does. I just requires some basic understanding of how American economics in general works and how it applies to the global market. I learn a lot about that and keep myself updated on those issues just by listening to people on my local talk radio station who actually know what they are talking about. Not from insane sources who are trying to push a partisan agenda.
