Have question abotu Matrix & Vibe

Post by johnnyz71 »

Ok, I have a question about performance mods. I have noticed that a lot of aftermarket companies don't have the Vibe listed, but they have the Matrix listed. Is it a safe assumption that I can use Matrix aftermarket parts on a Vibe? Are the cars the exact same underaneath the sheetmetal (tranny, engine, brakes, wheels, springs, etc?) Our Traiblazer will be available for the pull-ahead with GM in April (trading in leases early so that you can get another GM car with no penalty). I am already starting to order some stuff for it. Can anyone recommend some good websites to buy from? I want to order the Magnaflow exhaust, Injen Air Intake, & possible a Unichip? I love that these cars are so cheap to mod. Hell, my Corsa Exhaust for '04 Silverado cost $608 shipped, and my Volant Intake cost $260 shipped. I can get the exhaust and intake plus money left over for rims at the Vibes cost. I will have pics up as soon as we get the Vibe. The rims I have chose are Giovanna Kuma in HyperBlack, size 18". Thanks again for all the help!

You are correct. When looking for parts, you can look up the Matrix. The only exception would be exterior parts of course because of the body differences. But as far as intakes, exhaust, wheels and interior parts go, the Matrix stuff will work. Remember that the Matrix XRS = Vibe GT and the Matrix XR = Vibe (base). We all look forward to seeing some pics of your new Vibe.Welcome to GenVibe.

Check out http://www.ptuning.com . They have intake/exhaust packages and spring/sway bar packages. Also, if you go to matrixvibe.net, they have a banner you can click on that will save you 5% on your order.ND

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I thought Injen made an intake specifically designed for Vibes because of the position of the foglamps in comparison to the Matrix.*EDIT*Ok, I just looked at ptuning.com and they in fact do have two different intakes for the base models. The GT and XRS have the same intake though. I thought I remembered reading about this awhile ago, but wasn't sure.
