Help with install?

Post by OutLaW »

I would like to install small 6" neons under my dash. The problem is this. I need to be able to wire it to a positive wire. That's the problem. Only wire I know I CAN wire into is the lighter. Only problem is. I cant get to it. So the question is... Is there a way to get back of the lighter so I can get to the wires? Or if you can't get me to the wires. Is there a better suggestion to where I can get power from that won't cause problems. Another thing I don't wanna do it drill threw the fire wall. I tried to remove the panels around the shifter to get to the light but didn't wanna break anything. PLEASE HELP!!!

Real simple.Hop in the car.Go to Pep Boys.Pick up Littlefuse Add-A-Circuit: Remove the CIG fuse that powers your radio and associated accessories.Insert the red fuse into one slot on the add-a-circuit.Insert an identically-rated red fuse into the second slot on the add-a-circuit.Crimp your positive lead into the barrel crimp on the end of the pigtail.Connect your negative lead to a ground.Insert the add-a-circuit into the hole where the CIG fuse went.BAM!Two independent circuits.Problem solved! You can see how I used this device to add an auto-dimming rearview mirror: http://forums.genvibe.com/zerothread?id=7735#92046
