Finally took pics of my modest system...

Post by cdFxer »

Here are some pics of my system. I am not a great picture taker by any means. I am not very happy with the head unit. It works great but it is rather hard to see in the daylight, even with the contrast all the way up. I did not take any pictures of the speakers since they are behind the stock door panels/grills and you do not see anything!First pic is of the 10" subs. They are removeable but do not slide around at all.

And the amp...

The amp is under the passenger seat. I tried to take pics of the wiring harness my buddy used but it did not turn out very good. The top circular "Ample" thing turns bright blue when on. Loks cool...too bad the rest of the car is red lol....

Never too fond of the Kenwood's myself.. At least on the display end. See if you can get yourself a Pioneer or an Alpine, you shouldn't have that problem then!Like the amp under the seat, very well done!

Thank you! Glad to hear a pro's view on it. My buddy has been doing this stuff for almost twenty years, from full time to part time. Now he has opened his own shop, well actually opened it about 1.5+yrs ago now. Ive done a bit of this, but nowhere near the amount you and he have done. But then, almost everything I installed was custom-Motorola 2-way equipment and cell phones (back when cell phones were "bricks"). I dont miss the knuckle skinning, hurt knees and shoulders, and misc muscle pains from working on your side, head, back, etc! Im just glad we were able to swap labor/parts etc so I did not have to do anything but "turn the key" Oh yes, one thing he did I really like was when he removed the M & T amp, he only cut one connector and used another HU wiring harness on the other-it would take me like 10 minutes to "de-install" everything except the amp power wiring.
