Anyone driven the 2004 Dodge 5.7hemi?

Post by Mavrik »

I drove a black 2004 dodge ram1500 5.7litre hemi and man oh man... Just a little bit of gas and I was flat against the back window. Didn't see any girls flocking towards me though when I came to a stop so I was rather disapointed...Awsome truck though for a dodge, certainly not like my Vibe. But if only my Vibe had that torque and power.... *drools*

I almost traded my silverado for a SS untill I found out the 6.0L got 11.5 mpg.

Should cost well under $1000.00US.

Isn't it funny how just when automakers are seriously ramping up cubic inches and horsepower again (like the late 60's & early 70's), OPEC starts making noises about production cuts and gas prices go through the roof!Gas is still way cheaper at $2.00 a gallon than Pepsi at $1.49 for a 2-liter! And my Vibe won't run on Pepsi (yet)!

My 2003 Vibe Base Auto 2-tone Salsa "SalsaWagon" was built in May 2002. I acquired it in Feb 2004/Traded it in on a 2016 Honda HR-V in Feb 2018.

I cannot imagine having to fill up a truck getting 10-12 MPG. I have been suffering with my Jeep Wrangler which I can usually eek out 16-17 MPG on! It sure adds up fast when pump prices rise like they have been!

Yes, I can imagine filling a 37 gallon tank that gets 12 mpg. I have one of them. However, nothing like a big block and 4.10 rear axle to get you off the line! I usually put around 100 miles a week on it. However, my wifes minivan was in for body work, and she drove the truck. 2.5 weeks, around 100 gallons of gas.

She said the thing was so loud and they just aren't "truck people" so I guess she didn't appreciate it for all it could be.

I saw an article on the new R/T line from Dodge a while back, they look like some mean machines. I also saw an article where they had a 500 hp PT Cruiser though. A Viper engine in a little ol pt.. -.-They called it the PT-10, and gave it a bed like a trunk in addition to the engine. Such a waste of a good engine

I like the interior, not overdone. It was silver. Don't confuse them with the Ram with the Hemi. A lot of them have the same hood, but the R/T has a wing on the back.

They also have one of the new Magnums as well. But it has the V6 in it. That is like buying a four cylinder mustang. I definatly like the styling of it.
