Hi,Well, I scratched up the left quarter panel molding 5 minutes after I bought my car (talk about a bad day). To make a long story short, I found a replacement piece from a junkyard and have been trying to install it over the weekend. I ran into a problem with removing the retaining clips. They're virtually impossible to remove. I've only been able to remove 1 after about 20 minutes of wrangling and managed to scratch up the paint during the process. Does anybody have an easy method to remove them or know of a special tool? Thanks
Well, the problem is I scratched the car AT the dealership with the dealer WATCHING. I was backing out of the parking spot and getting used to the clutch let out, and suddently i hear a loud "SCREECH". I looked up and saw that I had hit a pole. Never felt more embarrassed in my life. The only explanation i could think of was i was too excited to finally get in the car that I completely missed the pole in my sideview mirror. The dealer wasn't too happy with me demolishing his pole, but he let me off considering i got the worse end of the deal. Fortunately most of the damage was localized to the rear left quarter molding - a part that cost $230 new i might add .
