I was wondering if I buy my Vibe in city A and then move to city B, how should I deal with the warrenty issue? Do I need to go back to where I buy the car? Thanks.
A GM warranty will be honoured at any GM dealer in North America. However, you should always go to a Pontiac dealer for service unless some sort of service emergency makes that impossible. Which is not likely.
YES!I still visit GenVibe periodically. I have not forgotten about my "original" family over here!

Which is not likely. dealer warranty for canada is not the same for the US. if you have a canadian vibe and bring it to the US, your Canadian warranty is void. and i believe it is the same for US vehicles in Canada. Unless you have some kind of extended warranty that covers both countries.here in alaska we have dealers that import canadian vehicles and resell them at a lower cost. the manuf warranty is void, so they add a diff warranty that will work in the US. then change the guages from km to miles.
Really?I remember when my family went to Niagara Falls a few years ago, we threw a CEL unexpectedly, took it to a dealer up there, they said they fixed it under warranty?

I think if the car is imported, yeah, it's void. But i'm pretty sure if the car is registered and primarily operated in the country it was built for and sold in, it will be covered.Maybe Mavrik being a dealer employee can help us out on this one?

Someone said my name?I'll have to check because I don't think the warranty is void as long as its a North American GM. I mean people have gone into the states and bought cars and brought them back into Canada... why would they if there was no warranty? Its GM North America... as service US and canadian vehicles. I don't remember exactly but I think I may have done some warranty work on a US vehicle... I have a good memory but its very short. lol.Moving however from city to city will not void warranty and any dealership is obligated to take care of your needs regardless of if you bought the vehicle from them or now. I had a customer passing through from Toronto, driving to Florida and their Montana was running rough. I fixed them up with a new EGR valve under warranty and got them on their way. They sent me a postcard from Florida saying they made it there, van was running fine and that the weather was awsome. Was nice to get a postcard but they sure rubbed in the good weather.
