I was wondering if anyone knew where to find the stock alignment specs for the vibe. I lowered my car and was going to fabricate a jig to set camber and caster. I dont know what the stock specs are. This info could be veryuseful in racing scca which i plan on. Adjustment of the stock specs can give definite advantages in predictablity.
i take it that is in degrees? I did my trans am on these specs. Those you cage are very conservative.A: A table in the Camaro & Firebird Perforamnce Handbook for 3rd Generation cars lists the following recommendations: Caster Camber Toe Total (deg) (deg) (in) L R L R Street +4 +4.5 -.5 -.5 3/32 Hard Street Use +5 +5.5 -1 -1 3/32 Drag Racing +4 +4 0 0 1/32 Road racing +6 +6 -1.75 -1.75 Short Course 1/8 out Long Course 1/16 inThe figures are credited to Global West Suspension Components and are taken with driver weight included
I just gave you the specs off of my alignment data sheet. I assumed everything was in degrees.I'm sure Madbill can help you with less "conservative" numbers.
The specs are actually quite aggressive for stock settings, being as high as 1.3 degrees negative. Lots of cars are 0.5 to 1.5 positve. We have a couple of members who Autocross their cars, they should be able to suggest some numbers. Failing that, you could install a pair of eccentric bolts (or just slot the mounting holes) and adjust until you get maximum grip. Of course if this turns out be 2.5 or more degrees negative, you can expect weird and rapid tire wear. For the rear, I believe there are tapered hub shims available to correct camber during crash repairs.
