yeah, but it has to be declared for fed income tax and things cost more up here, besides it may not last too much longer with our budget problems....alaska isnt for everyone and you have to be a resident to stay, there is a saying; "there are the poor *******s who can't afford to leave and then there are the poor *******s who love it and want to stay". the key is to save it for bigger things, there are sooo many tempting offers/things to buy!!!!

yes, it would be nice.... but still... they are trying to slowly dwindle it away so the state govt can take it. but i know many military members that DO plan to move back once they are finished... but i also know many that DON'T plan on it but lie on their applications.

They should do that with PA. There is a mass exodus of younger people.

well, there are many people who apply and try to get back up here. after they retire however, many come back. are you out of the military yet? if so, what positions are you looking for. the job market up here is pretty good from what i know right now, not like washington or most of the lower 48.my cousin's in the AF and they've been trying to get back to ak for 7 yrs. he finally got his ok and moved up end of january from mt home, id. so it takes awhile. my dad retired from the af after 25 yrs and got a job back up here.

Quote, originally posted by Mr. Poopypants »They should do that with PA. There is a mass exodus of younger people.HAHAHAHAHAHA!!! You think Ed Rendell would part with a single penny of the income from the new taxes that he enacted??? ROFL! Come on now, everybody around here knows that all the roads around Harrisburg were repaved 2 years ago and they just HAVE to repave them again! That's why we had to raise the state income tax rate. I don't know, when Tom Ridge was governor, we had a budget surplus and they were talking about either lowering the state income tax rate or issuing a flat refund to all residents who paid taxes in the previous year. Then Rendell gets elected, the budget fell apart, and now we have to tax everything! I wonder where the REAL problem is? I warned everyone not to vote for Ed "tax and spend" Rendell, but did anyone listen to me? Noooooooo. He had that party letter in front of his name that is sacred in PA. No jobs in PA? Thank fast Eddie and his little buddy Mayor moron Murphy. They think they can tax their way out of everything. Well they're just driving away anyone with common sense who makes any money, businesses included.
