I am making a pair of bolt on rear 1.25 inch spacers to match the front. Has anyone else done this and have they had any rubbing. I am going to space the front out .25 inch possibly also. Not sure yet.
Hi, ad, it's me again. As you will see below, there are certain parallels in our plans! There's quite a lot of space inside the fenders, but spacing out 1.25" will reduce the effective offset by ~32 mm and that's enough to affect wheel bearing loads. the 1/4" in front isn't enough to matter. For more on such, see my post "Project Big Boots" on this forum.
I really think that the load increase is not significant enough to cause concern. I have installed them and all i have to say is that they look bad (removed). I feel a definite difference in stability also. I have had them on for a solid 2 weeks now and i just have to clear up a fender clearance problem tomorrow. Some rolling is in order. I have not made the front ones yet because i am still deciding on caliper type for my front brake upgrade. I will post pics tomorrow.
