I ordered my Vibe, salsa, base, 5 speeds, 16" wheels on Aug. 27th.The built date was set on Dec 9th and I was very tired to wait. I phone all the Pontiac dealers in hte Montreal area and I found the more then I expected.A base, salsa monotone, 5 speeds, power package, 16" wheels. I went on the dealer site and I singh up the contract right away.I was very lucky cause this car i a cancellation form a person who was tired to wait his Vibe.
Tout un revirement BEN!!!It's almost the same thing as you wanted. But now, you have the power package you didn't ordered. Have you already bought your door locks you were talking about? I hope you didn't... Or maybe you could sell it to someone else...Congratulations! and post some pics!!!

Great news! Thats how I got mine... I went in to order, prepared to wait 5 months or so, and while we were there someone cancelled their order for the very same one I wanted (except colour - I wanted Salsa) so I took that order and my Vibe arrived 1 month later!

Why wait so long? Cant you just go to Michigan...buy one there...and take it back to Canada? Or do you have to pay fees and stuff?Every dealer I go to down here has at least 5-10 Vibes ready for sale.

Jeez.I didn;t realize how scarce these Vibes seem to be.. In my area (50 mile radius) there must be 4-6 dozen Vibes to choose from. I have to admit although I usually see maybe 1 or 2 Monotone vibe per dealer.

Well if we buy in Michigan I think we pay more because of the exchange rate and your guages, mileage etc would not be metric. Someone can correct me if I'm wrong on that.

I regreted this choice after few weeks. Then i found my "dream Vibe", monotone and power package. Plus, stock door lock and power windows look much better then an aftermarket one. Radio-Shack button added looks a little crap.

In America, the speedo's predominant measure is miles/hour whereas in Canada the predominant measure is kilometers/hour. Not sure if the American speedo is legal in Canada, but it should be.Am I the only one here who thinks it is absolutely insane that it takes so long to get a VIBE in Canada. Our American friends see VIBES all over the lots down there, value priced with rebates and financing breaks to encourage people to buy more, while we wait 6 months to order. Absolutely insane I tell ya. Someone at GM should lose their job.
It will cost an arm and a leg to buy a Vibe in Usa and cross the border with it. Exchange reate is about $1.56c for $1.00 us. Plus, you have to add custom fees and taxes. Buying a base in USA will cost almost a Canadian GT.quote:As for the speedo, all speedometers have both miles/hour and kilometers/hour on them. I have firend or mine who bough American car (Mitsubishi Eclipse) and it is legal. It is harder to see at what speed you are but it is the only negative point.
I got 2 news from my dealer (1 good, the other less). i pass through credit but I need to transfert or sold my existing car (Montana 2001) b4 picking up my Vibe. I have someone who wants it but it is impossible to make transfert today. I'll have to wait 2 or 3 days again. It is not so bad but I'm a little disapointed. Anyways, I'll get it by the end of the week, I can consider this as a good news.
