A Long time ago in the mid 90's, I went to the International auto show in Detroit and drooled over this Pontiac prototype. It bears a strange resemblance, if not true origin of the Vibe idea! What does everyone else think?

I too was at that show in Detroit and drooled on that car. I think fingering it as a pre VIBE is a little bit of a stretch, it is not entirely out of the question. Prototypes are meant to tweak people's interest and inspire designers, so much of the VIBE's original design was almost certainly inspired by this vehicle, especially the cargo area. I think I remember the GM reps saying you could lay a 4x8 sheet of plywood down flat in the car.
I'm still drooling. Seen it in a mag if I'm not mistaking. Never seen it in person. Doe's the pic do it justic? I can't remember what year I seen it though. At least 4 years or more. I think your right on, the Vibe does have a striking resemblance to that concept.
Went searching around some old photos and found my pictures of the Rageous from the 97' auto show. Just figured I'd add them here too. It just looks to me that some of the front end design got re-hashed several times after it, and put into the vibe.
