Was on my way home from work (second shift). I am/was very sleepy. Decided to wash the Vibe since the GF who has been driving it can not seem to do this. So I was sitting in the automatic bay and it was doing its thing. I noticed a spot of bird, uhm, "doodoo" (family forum?lol) on the passenger window. So I think, hmmm, maybe if I roll the window down a bit it will get pushed off by the lower window seal. Hey it worked! So I get brave and try it once more, forgetting that on the first try I timed it between the sprays from the automatic washer.Wait for it....You guessed it, DRENCHED passenger seat, door panel, SPEAKERS!, CD's in the door pocket were floatin'....(removed)....At least I was awake for the rest of the drive home If nothin else I was awake and kinda squishy...
It's nice to know I am not the only person who has done this. Didn't do it in my Vibe, but did do it in my Sunbird when I was 16. Best part of mine was that I got a good shower as well!!!!!!
Just because you see Charlie doesn't mean I am a he....sometimes Charlie can be a she!!!!
I had a similar thing happen to me when I got my '79 Malibu washed in an automatic washer for the first time. My Dad had a pressure washer so I used that most of the time. When I was a college I decided to wash my car. When the control arm swept around on the first pass I learned that the seals around the driver and passenger side windows leaked. So after two passes the inside of my car along with me were completely drenched. It took three days for my car seats to not squish when I got in. That was the first and last time that I went to an autowash.
Luckily I did not have the window down fully, just enough to dislodge the bird stuff. For the record: Me 1 Bird stuff 0Oh and everything seems dry now....Oh yes, wet tee no, farmers tan, yes (but give me another few weeks-grounds almost ready)
