TRD 2ZZ Header

Post by goodvibe »

http://www.trdperformance.com/...r.jpg This site has it listed for $788. I first found this on another site for more $ so I think this 2zz header is really available in the US. Never mind. Low gains. Cheaper now that it's not just JDM but still not worth it.
Vibe GT, TRD springs, Progress bar, STB, Unichip, Borbet E 16x7.5, 225/50 Bridgestone RE750, beefed up grounds and battery bypass capacitors(had em laying around)

I've checked a few websites, and several of the performance shops in my area, but nobody has been able to show me a header for the 1ZZ engine (Base Vibe). Would you happen to know of one? (Preferably Ceramic coated or aircraft titanium for temp reasons, but just about any aftermarket header would do )

ya, way too expensive for headers... even if they are TRD! not enough gains to justify the cost imo

I've seen several dyno tests of headers in tuner magazines and the results were underwhelming! The "gains" ranged from about plus three to minus five HP, with plus two being about average. Seems like this is one place it's hard to improve on the factory's work! I'd be inclined to just pull the stock header and spend an hour cleaning up the welds and junctions with a carbide cutter. (The Extrude Hone process works well on cast manifolds, but I'm not sure it would do much for a tubular header like the Vibe's.)

that sounds too easy to be true, silverawd26. What kind of shop would I take it to? How long of a process is this? What can I expect to pay? I do remember Dmitri doing it a while back on his own...I don't think I'm that daring at this point lol
