What is easier to move?

Post by CMcGowan »

I'm going to be installing a MP3 CD changer in a few weeks and want to know which under seat device would be easier to move/relocate. The AC Converter under the driver's seat or the M&T amp under the passenger seat? For now I'm keeping the stock radio and using a FM modulator to keep the setup low key since I work in a "not so great" area. I'm planning on mounting the display control either inside the top arm rest or in the inside of the pop out drawer under the shifter. Thanks

My guess is that it would easier to move the AC converter, becuase it should have fewer wires, but I'm not sure how hard it would be, or if there is enough room that you don't actually need to move one to fit the changer in there.

I agree with Joatmon. The AC converter will be a lot easier then the M&T amp to move. But mesure carefully, may be you will not have to move anything to install your changer

Glove compartment? And how many Discs is it? If it's a 6 it should fit under the driver seat..

The changer is a 12 disc model. Without brackets 10 7/16" W x 3.5" H x 7" D. With brackets and mounted horizontal: 12.75" W x 3 7/8" H x 7" D.I was thinking about the glove compartment as well but I'm worried about the weight of the unit causing saging problems on the glove door.

I don't think it would cause sagging... Not sure though. I'd really have to say you shouldn't need to worry about that... Have you also considered mounting it in the trunk area? On the sides, maybe up the side of the wall a little bit so it doesn't get in the way of cargo? I think on the right side, you might be able to mount it above the little hump in the plastic, and still have it hidden by the cargo cover..Otherwise..i'd say..unscrew the thing under the driver side, don't remove it, but get some velcro or something and just velcro it down to the changer...
