Post by ZedTim »

Just want to get a general Idea what everyone thinks I will be bringing this up at my monthly MADD meet Monday March 8 2004 and hopefully be able to give them some numbers as to interest at that time.. I've selected a few dates here as well please VOTE! now remember I think holding the annual oshawa meet should be the same day and we can end it out with a BBQ once we get this in we will try getting some numbers for attendance PLEASE VOTE BEFORE MARCH 7 2004

A lot of people take their vacations then. It may be difficult to get a hold of people (including the folks at security) if we have any changes. I just want to make sure a bunch of security guards don't show up and kick us out for trespassing.

I think that a kick off at the GM Canada Headquarters, fun run/ car rally followed by a huge BBQ would be great.Lets get an organized planning meeting in place. IE who wants to hook up for coffee and shoot the $$## for a few hours???

If anyone is interested, we could meet on the Saturday and then take in the molson indy on the sunday. I have gone the past few years and it is amazing.

I was thinking that we would kick things off at GM and end at the park and then we cook up a storm...of course people can stay over and then attack the Indy on the Sunday but at the same time there is the car show here on the Sunday, can see how a car show should be lolT

whatever works and gets the best interest and attention is where my vote will be. I am really looking forward to getting a group together and having a great time. Hind sight is 20/20 meaning that if we all went to the indy, we would not be hanging about as a group of vibers, so I would like to see if there is a Sunday event that we could have as an add on that would be centered around the cars that brought us together in the first place. Suggestions?????We should also think about talking to people at GM re:sponsors prizes and the like.Any other companies that anyone can think of that we might approach about sponsoring or having a rep available to answer questions. I was thinking about one of the performance shops in the area that carries stuff for the vibe/matrix.I know that is still early but if we can get some info out there then it is more we have time to contact people and let them know what is going on.

Would anyone be interested in having time at the local race track for some lapping. If there is interest I will contact them and see wht I can set up. Another thought is that I have a contact that has an advanced driving school that we might be able to come see us and give a few pointers.

Well the indy would be awsome having never gone to one before but my feelings would not be hurt if we found something for us Vibers to do together. Cause yeah at an indy... its going to be busy as hell around there and we would not be as a group for sure. I'm down for some laps at a track though lol

It'd be good to have the track solely for us Vibe/Matrix owners for a day!I believe someone's posted some rates at Shannonville in the link...http://www.matrixowners.com/mo...19765

If there is REAL interest in a track day. I'll get in touch with a freind who is a memeber of a small corvette club that are trying t oget a track day together. If we aget more people to share the expense, then it would be a bit more reasonable. I have been to days like this at shannonville an they were amazing!!!!!!(By real I mean people that are willing to commit 100% an throw a few $$ in advance to confirm they will be there.)I think that this would be a seperate event from the meet in the summer.

Well some of you remember the C7 Performance cruise last fall. Well, I have asked them to help out with our meet, if we help them with theirs. Basically, what I was thinking....and it is entirely up to you guys/girls to agree or disagree, but we can either do the sponsorship or ask each car to donate $5 to participate if they wish. If they contribute more than $10 MADD should provide them with a tax receipt.

It really does not matter if Gm is shut down because we are just using their lot for a gathering place. I know that Zedtim has a guest hooked up for the day that should be interesting( Sorry not a SC Vibe) . From what I understand the plan is to have a meet and greet, then hit the road for a cruise or fun rally, followed by meeting up again by the lake for a BBQ / brag fest.So what GM is up to shoukd not interfere with our plans

That weekend is the same weekend of DarkNights. I think we should have the meet there instead. Why? To show them aftermarket companies how many Vibes there are. As well, we all will be able to check out the cars at DarkNights.
