Driver side rattle, acoustics problem....

Post by shizon_g »

My first post, I hope someone else has had this problem. I bought a 03 Vibe 5 months ago with the Moon & Tunes package. The first 2 months were great, nice stereo, no problems. After that time passed my stereo has gone to hell. Let me correct that, I can no longer enjoy the supposed Premium sound. If the bass is turned up on the stereo past +0 my entire driver's side interior door rattles. My last car, a 2002 Catera had the nicest factory Bose setup and never rattled. Has anyone else had this problem? Am I picky or does Pontiac need a new Acoustic Engineer???

When i turn up the volume i hear a rattle in the driver side door. It stops if i apply pressure around the speaker area. I havent taken the door appart to see whats the problem. I might try to put some of the same stuff i used to make my cargo mat with since i have some left over..

The wire that connect to the speaker rubs up agains the door, i had the same problem but it got fixed at the meeting i went to. just take off the door panel and but the wire behind the foam thats already there.
