I dropped a quarter while I was looking for change for parking. I noticed it landed right behind the parking brake lever on top of the rubbery slits. The parking brake was engaged and there wasn't enough room to pull the quarter out with my fingers, so I released the parking brake. That created just enough of a gap for the quarter to slip behind the rubber and fall into the console. Should I bother fishing it out? I looked at some of the pictures of what's beneath the floor console and it's just wires. It doesn't look like the quarter will interfere with the operation of the parking brake either.
If the brake works ---Why Bother? It's only 25 cents and not worth the trouble to pull things apart and possibly break something. My advice--FORGET ABOUT IT. It might roll out on the floor in due time. James (Vibe)
Nah, it won't interfere. There's a lot of "empty" space down there. Heck, I have a coil of cable down there for my 4channel amp, and it hasn't bothered anything yet.

Ugh..don't remind me about the gas prices. Thankfully i've noticed my MPG is slowly creeping upwards..I really want to know WHY it's only getting ~20 MPG. I know it's a GT, but still..i've gotten up to 35 MPG before!

Oh right, about the armrest console, very easy to get to. Pick up the little carpet thing in front of the cupholders, two 10mm screws there. Pick up the carpet in the bottom of the storage compartment, two more 10mm screws there. Remove all the screws, and lift upwards. Voila!

I've been sitting around 225-229 for the last two months! This is killing me.. I checked the air filter, and that was clean... I've no idea what the deal is.. Maybe i'll ask the dealer when I go in on monday to kvetch about the cladding..

You don't HAVE to fish it out, it won't harm anything. But if you want to, removing the center console is easy.Engage the parking brake.Lift up the little carpet in the lowest bin (the end closest to the shifter). Undo the two bolts. Open up the main console storage, lift up the carpet, remove those two bolts. Go into the back seat, lift up the rear of the console, and look underneath. There's one wire harness to unclip (for the hidden power outlet). Unclip it.Lift up the console.See, a snap. I remove it once every few months to collect miscellaneous change which tends to accumulate down there.

There are pictures in the following thread.http://forums.genvibe.com/zerothread?id=5923If it's not critical, I think I'll wait and clean it out just before the Michigan meet. I'll use my quarter to bring you all a pack of Timbits. Thanks for all your responses.
