I got the vibe, my son got the lame minivan. he recently hit a deer, some minor crumpling of the front end, nothing nearly as catastrophic as ragingfish's deer strike. He suffered no injuries other than the after effects of the adrenaline rush, and the fear of telling me that he trashed the van, but there's not much you can do when a depressed deer goes off his zoloft and suicides against your car, so I was nice about it. the pic shows some damage, and all that was left of the deer (some hair stuck in the wasted radiator). The van had 257K miles on it (from here to the dark side of the moon), still runs good, just not worth putting any money into repairs at this point. picked up a 95 corolla as a replacement for a couple $K. Driving it, I was really surprised at how good the visibility was out the back compared to the vibe. Turn to look behind and you can really see, almost zero blind spot. Vibe has much better headroom though, the top of the windshield is higher. In the corolla, if you pull up to a traffic light too close, you really have to bend down to look up. He's taller than I am, and took off the sunvisor to get about another inch or so of visibility at the top.Auto tranny isn;tnearly as much fun as the vibe's 5 speed, but the corolla has PW/PL/cruise, which I don;t have in the vibe. The corolla's stock hU and 4 speakers sounds like crap compared to the vibe's M&TAnyway, I still have the vibe, so I'm happy, he's got the corolla beater car, and likes it much better than the old van. THe van had enough going wrong with it that I'm glad he's in something more reliable.
