I've found that I have to hit the refresh button to get it to work.

I noticed that because I use Mozilla, and it has a built in pop-up stopper, that I had to allow the pop-up windows before the IM feature would work for me.I imagine if others are running pop-up stopping software, that there could be similar issues....

Unfortunately you need to either refresh a page in the forum or visit other areas of the forum in order for the system to notify you of IM's."So, if you want to have an interactive conversation with someone via genvibe IM, you need to be logge in and keep active on the forum page to get IM updates.
