Oil pump.

Does anyone truly know where the oil pump is driven on this motor! Is it off the crank, gear driven, shaft driven?

The oil pump bolts to the front (passengers side) of the engine and is driven via flatspots on the ends of the crankshaft. The crank pulley slides on the ends of the crank and inside the pump.

So just a straight gear to gear drive then?

The oil pump is a sun and ring gear. The sun gear is driven by the crank, the ring gear is driven by the sun gear. Similar to the pics below (the pics below are not of the actual Vibe pump):
