Hi there,My clutch on my base Vibe is slipping at 31,000 kms. I was curious if anybody else is having this problem. GM is saying that if they take it apart to find out that, in their opinion, the clutch wear is, "normal," that this will not be covered under warranty. I can't possibly see how normal wear could even be considered within 31,000 kms, as I don't drive aggressively, I have driven standards all my driving life having never burned through a clutch, and have made no mods at all to the car.Has anyone had any similar problems? Has anyone had clutch repair completed under warranty? Please let me know what you think - thanks!
That's too early for normal wear, but I can understand why a delaer might try to blame it on the driver. A bad operator can wear out a clutch fast, but that doesn;t mean that you drive a clutch poorly. I wouldn;t be able to tell why a clutch wore out, maybe a dealer tech can. Maybe it's slipping but the problem is not a worn clutch. Seems like those that have had clutch slipping problems were GTs, not base, ( http://forums.genvibe.com/zerothread?id=5172 )
i had to have my clutch replaced after 5,000 miles, it was replaced under warranty. when i ordered my vibe they shipped it and i had test driven a different car but the same model and everything, so i hadn't actually seen the odometer before i signed the papers. it said that the car had 37 miles on it. when i drove it off the lot the odometer said 167. Thats a heck of a lot of test drives! and most people that test drive standards.... don't know how to drive them, in turn, a clutch can be burned up very quickly when someone doesn't know how to drive it.i also have the GT though. and i'm at 28,000 miles and no problems since.
2006 MazdaSpeed6 GT which is for sale if anyone is interested...
