I'd like to start this thread to get a feel for how severe the Spam problem is for people on this board, and what we are all doing to deal with it. For me, Spam is a burden that makes me ill as I get at least 100/day, inspite of all my efforts to stop it. I have been using the pro version of MailWasher for at least 6 months now, along with AdAware and Spybot. If anyone has any ideas to at least slow down Spam, or eliminate it totally (besides changing your email address), I'm sure it would be very much appreciated by all. Thank you.
My e-mail block list is full to keep out the spam mails and all that crap. I also run spybot and spy killer to remove adware programs. Also constantly update my IE to prevent someone from running programs on my computer through a website. As for an exact way of removing this problem... there is nothing else but show up at these people's doors and put our foot up their a$$.

I also run spybot and AdAware. Ever since I switched to Yahoo email about 2 years ago, I pretty much stopped receiving spam. I probably only get about 2 per day that are unwanted. I've read that if you click on the "unsubscribe here" link, you are actually just setting yourself up for more emails. Who knows. All I know is I don't ever give out my email address unless it is TOTALLY unavoidable, and in that case, I always look for the check box that says don't send me any emails.
Well I'm with Rogers so we get 7 email addresses - I have three of those and one is for friends/family only. Another is for online shopping and my third is for all other internetting. The one for friends/family has never had spam. The online shopping only gets stuff from retail stores and the internet gets spam - but not that much.

Quote, originally posted by Vibe Rater » (besides changing your email address), Once your e-mail address gets into the hands of ONE of the spammers, it WILL get to all of the spammers. I hate to say it, but yes, change your e-mail address. I also do like Sputnik in using a "junk" e-mail address for ebay, etc, and a seperate one for friends/family. Be smart on what web pages you give your e-mail address to. I think it should be legal to terminate the life of spammers and telemarketers.
