Dead battery...again

I had to jump the Vibe for the third time today. Seems that if I listen to the radio for more than 20 minutes in accessory mode, it's enough to kill the battery's reserve (or deplete it enough so it can't start the car). That's bull.My Sunfire let me go for well over 2 HOURS without any battery problems...I need to get in there and get that warranty replacement! ARGH!

twenty minutes is bogus. I've run the ac converter thing for a couple of hours at a time and had no problem. Your killer audio system must be sucking the amps!Good luck getting a warranty replacement

Killer audio system?You mean a head unit? LOL!Remember, I don't have any aftermarket audio except the HU and the XM, and the XM wasn't even running.

I had a dead battery which was caused when the in-dash 6-CD changer went wacko while I left the car parked in the airport parking garage (yes, I took the keys w/ me). 1st trip to the dealer: diagnose the problem (i.e. make it official, I need a new radio). Second trip to the dealer, replace the cd/radio. The replacement radio had "burned out" lights on the 1/2 button, AM/FM buttom, and RPT button, so I'm going back again. Third trip, wrong cd/radio ordered. 4th warranty trip coming up, and hopefully its correct this time.

raging: Yeah, definitely bogus. I know it's colder up there than down here...but I can still run my system on accessory (and you KNOW what kinda stuff i'm running)- Nav System- JL 300/4 amp for the door speakers- Lightning Audio 350 watt mono amp- Sirius Sat Radio- XM Sat Radio- Alpine EQ/ProcessorAnd probably one or two things I forgot...I can be at volume for a few minutes, and just a quiet "normal" range for a lot longer than that. Never killed the stock battery yet. Although, in the next paycheck or two, I am gonna go out and spring for an Optima...If your battery is dying that fast...i'd say it should be up for replacement, hands down!

20 minutes? I wish I could run mine that long in acessory -_-Mine won't even run for 5 minutes with the engine started and at a standstill. I have to be moving or slip it into neutral and rev the engine a little bit. But that's only because I haven't upgraded my alternator to the Stinger one yet (The factory alternator only makes 80 amps, from what I hear). If you want to give yourself a better power system for your Vibe without blowing $1000 on a Stinger alternator, the next thing I would do would be get a new battery, I would suggest an Optima Redtop if they have them in your area. Stinger's 200 red top battery is also a nice one. If you want even more then I would suggest a power capacitor, but without a system you really shouldn't need to get one of those
