It's the one in the center, above the lid (between the child seat hooks). It looks exactly like the other two locks that are used to open the lid accessing the spare wheel compartment, but I can't seem to find what that it's for. Couldn't find it in the manual.

AAAAAH! I hadn't noticed that one. What a great space that is for the cover! Must have been what was rattling in the back, as it was unlocked since the beginning. Thanks a lot!

That's so awsome, I didn't even notice that before! I just ran out there to look after reading this. So I put my ice scraper, emergency blanket, and my police tape in there! How exciting is that. You learn something new every day. Thanks.
I find that compartment a little hard to work with...There's not really a place to lift and putting it back doesn't happen easily for me either...Maybe you guys can give me a couple of pointers?thanks

Yeah, it can be a bit tough sometimes. Just put it in by the front lip first, push it down, maybe give it a small tap on either side so it sits right, then lock it.Right now, I only use it to hold my fuse/distribution block for my amps. I was going to put my capacitor down there, but not enough room without modifying the compartment..

Yeah, my dad works in a warehouse somewhere and he got a few extra boxes of police tape for me. Is there anything besides the actual lock that keeps the lid shut? Like maybe a little lip or something? I wouldn't want the lock to pop off becasue the blanket i have in there is a tight squeeze...

I never noticed this compartment before either!! I had to empty my hatch to find it (it's full of winter stuff -- shovel, sleeping bag, Boost, assorted papers, empty pop bottles). I put my hatch cover in there just on principle, but it's a rather tight fit; the ribs don't give a very good roll to wedge it in there.Good find!

Anyone noticed the carpeted open area right at the corner of the back seat toward the bottom?A nice place about the size of a loaf of bread where you can stuff things.
Is this area back in the hatch compartment? I'm trying to think of where this might be...

As far as the carpeted space, I think he means the one from beneath the back seat.I noticed the narrow compartment but don't use it for much unless I REALLY don't want it found, as I have a large unmovable box sitting on top of it (Sound system)
