GT emblem

Post by GT_03 »

I think i'm going to buy a Ford Mustang "GT" emblem, and put on the Vibe. I really like the way it looks, and i think it would be a different little mod. I'll keep posted how it goes.

This is a joke, right? That's like a Civic with a "Type R" badge only worse IMO because it's a different company all together!

Well, if it's a VibeGT, it wouldn't be falsely advertising his car like those Civic Type R's, etc.

I'm not pretending anything, i'm just using a part from another vehicle, and really it's not even a part, just a emblem. I could understand if is said "FORD GT", but it just says "GT".

2 points for originality and I don't see how it would be misbadging, you have a GT so it's just a different style emblem. You know, I read in a mag (Sport Compact Car I think) that some company makes a kit that mates a Mustang GT trans to a Honda B16 engine for racers who want a stronger trans. I wonder what badging those guys would use ND

Come to think of it, I wouldn't mind getting the GT door badges from a Ford Probe... They were kinda nice. Decal..where it was just an outline.. But...as I have the Grafxwerks overlays...I think i'm good for now.. :D

Not misbadging, true...but I wouldn't want a Ford emblem or any other company's badging on my car. Just doesn't make since to me.

Even if they do make the GT emblem its just 2 letters. Why are some topics so weird?

Because it was designed for the Mustang, plain and simple...I know, maybe I'll get a "GT-R" badge from a Nissan Skyline. Cut the "R" off and slap it on the side of the Vibe....Obviously, you're not gonna convince me and vise-versa, so do what you must...as long as you like it....I'm done.

An opinion is an opinion...I wasn't giving my approval or even saying that i was right...just that it doesn't make sense to me...which if this is gonna make his vehicle unique and likes to be unique, then he shouldn't give a rat's @ss what I or anyone else thinks...

I think that'sa sweet idea....It doesn't compare to the Honda=type-R's at all...if you wanted to compare it to the Type-R Honda's it would be like a COBRA-R badge ona Vibe...Actually when you think about it..the Honda Type-R's arn't that bad since Honda and Acrua are basically the same companies...it's exactly the same as everyone that puts TRD badges on their Vibes...Vibes arn't Toyota's (minus the engine and everything) but they still worked togather to for the designs so it doesn't matter.

Not really. A "Type R" is an actual model. You put one on a civic or a vehicle that is not that model and PRESTO! You 've got rice! Although, there are a few civic's running around that could actually sport the Type R badge because of a B18 swap or an actual J-Spec Civic that was imported to the states.TRD is an actual company that produces parts for Toyota-based vehicles. Therefore, it is nothing like "Type-R" badging. TRD would be comparable to such names as Mopar, Mugen, Nismo, and such...

Yeah, you're right. Never the less, it doesn't bother me too much. As long as they dont have giant ugly chrome 24" "dubs" or full blown rice than I don't really let it get to me. There are a few exceptions...like Yenkos badges on '99 Camaro SS's with z28 engine, or type-R badges on a BMW M3...that's pathedic thats like taking a Ferrari F-50 and calling it a mustang, pretty degrading if you ask me.I think the idea of taking a 'stang GT badge and putting in on a Vibe is a pretty creative idea No one else has thought of it...and like someone else said...it's not like it actually says "mustang" or "ford" on it so who cares!
