Saskatchewan Blizzard (with video link)

Post by pmh013 »

Even though the worst is over now, I'm still sitting at home this morning. The highway I need to drive on is considered "travel not recommended" so I'm staying home until I hear otherwise.I managed to get home yesterday afternoon before they closed down all the highways. Here's a little taste http://www.cbc.ca/clips/ram-lo...1.ram

For those who aren't in the metric system yet...Winds gusting 70 km/h to 90 km/h = 45 MPH to 56 MPHThat lady was driving 30 km/h (on the highway) = 19 MPH10 cm of snow fall = 4 inches--- I really like the shot of the cop in the balaclava... looks like he's about to hold up a 7-11.

I saw that report on last night's National. Yeah the cop with the balaclava was something to see.

Poor (removed), going from so close to the centre of the universe (Toronto) to the butthole of Saskatchewan (Regina). It's still crappy out there. I tried to go to work yesterday, but decided driving on a skating rink in zero-visibility wasn't my cup of tea (especially when I'm driving my fiance's Jetta!). This morning wasn't much better ... the skating rink now has 2" sized holes spaced about 8" apart from where the salt landed. Hopefully it's better on the drive home.
