Well, I took my car in Monday to finish getting my cladding redone. http://forums.genvibe.com/zerothread?id=6775 They finally got the "last" cladding piece in, from last November. Well, I picked up my car after work about 6:30 - 7pm and I noticed that they didn't put any molding strips (I think that they call them flare moldings) on there. But there was no one to talk to except the cashier and a kid that got the cars for the customers. So this morning I went back and asked them if they had to order them and they said that they didn't replace those. They didn't order them, (and didn't have to order them) because they weren't in the service bulletin. I guess I understand were they are coming from because that would be more work that they would have to do and it doesn't say to replace those. A couple of questions for you guys, that have gotten their's redone.... Did you get your's replaced? Did they give you hassle? I've attached a few pictures for you visual people.... Excuse the salt! Thanks for your input in advance!

I think you need those strips to seal the crack.I would ask somebody at the dealership who has a little bit of authority to exercise some common sense (could be difficult, I know) and get the strips in.I think a few others have mentioned this before. Maybe in the P&WI section you'll find the thread. I'm too lazy to search for ya.

I think it's under control. I see another post in P&WI that indicates that the strips are now at the dealership.

Just like silverawd26 said... get it fixed fast! If it rubs the paint off around the fenders, they probably won't cover that under warranty. They replaced them on mine, only after a few trips to the dealership to show them what the problem was. I ended up getting the manager of the bodyshop to look at a new Vibe and basically told him those had to be replaced as well. Looks as though you may have to do the same thing. They took care of it after that, they ordered the strips and some extra "christmas-tree" clips (since most of those have to be replaced as well cause they break when you remove the cladding panels) and it was good as new after that. Hope that helps.

Maybe they were just lying in the first place. They said that it didn't say that in the bulletin or their service manual. This TSB will inspect and replace the appropriate areas of the cladding affected with the new 2004-style cladding (including the newly designed rocker panel). The TSB is # 02-08-111-005A - parts are available for ordering from your dealer as long as they confirm the warranty repair. From: http://forums.genvibe.com/zerothread?id=5742

If they thought it was damaged enough not to reinstall with the cladding they should have ordered a new set.

It pisses me off that I would even have to go that far. Does anyone have the number or address to get ahold of GM. The more and more I think about it makes me more and more upset!
