WooHoooo Star Wars on DVD....

Post by cibomatto »

http://www.washingtonpost.com/....html....."Star Wars" aficionados won't have to wait for the May 2005 release of the sixth movie in the franchise for their next big thrill. The original "Star Wars" trilogy, comprising the 1977 movie, its 1980 sequel "The Empire Strikes Back" and 1983's "Return of the Jedi," will be released on DVD as a four-disc boxed set in September, Fox Home Entertainment and Lucasfilm Ltd. announced yesterday. ......

I never thought George Lucas was going to do this! This is great. I wonder if it will be the "ORIGINAL" versions or the "MODIFIED" versions that were released in theaters a couple of years back.

The "Original" one is old, has all the original artwork from the movies, and makes all my Star Wars fan friends jealous I may have to ask for this as a Christmas present

I just knew it.....So, let's recap....uhm. I got the orgininal version on VHS....the Special Edition that came out a few years back on VHS, I have Phantom Menace on VHS and DVD and The Clone Wars on DVD. Well, I guess I will just have to go out and buy the DVD to the original trilogy and the DVD for the 3 and final installment whenever it comes out (most likely around Christmas of 2005).

Don't forget the six box set that I'm sure will be released in late 2006, with new scenes and all added to all six...It would be just like GL!!I actually have both the Special Edition and Original box sets on Laserdisc (wow remember them). They are the only reasons I still have my old Pioneer LD player. Although, I may have to keep it if the true originals never come out on DVD!

I gues this is bad news for the purists. Meanwhile I now feel silly picking up the Special Edition Laserdisc Box set two years ago...http://story.news.yahoo.com/ne...sonly

I glad that the DVD's would be out soon. Even if they are the modified versions thats ok too, I just like the movies. By the way I just sold my special edition box set of LD's with my pioneer player on ebay. It was just to hard keeping that huge player for just 3 movies.
