Door Ajar Light?

Post by fieryhill »

Well I've had my vibe back a couple of months, since it has been repaired, i only have a few tidbits. When I was in my accident the Emergency "guys" pushed my door back in the opposite direction?..so it's kind of loose, they just put some rubber stripping on the side, what for I don't see any reason for it. I'm not sure if there is much I or they can do to fix it. And I think it might have been too much to actually replace the door panel I don't know. My door ajar light when i first got my vehicle was never on and it was very dimly lit when the car was turned off and locking and unlocking it with the alarm system seemed to have no effect. Now It seems to to stay brightly lit as if the door is ajar but it's shut. It really poses no threat, but if it's really windy it pulls on my door. OF course I'll take it back I just want to see if you guys have some insight.

So your door is loose? Seems like they should have been able to get it to latch securely. When you get the door ajar light, do the dome lights come on too?

It shuts securely, but it has a small rattling noise when you shut it, not VERY noticeable, but you can hear a slight difference between it and the passenger door. The dome lights operate normally though.

There's a small dial on the dashboard to the left of the steering wheel that controls how/when the lights are on. You can have it so they're on all the time, on when the door's open, all the lights off (including the gauge cluster, which is pretty cool ^^). You might try spinning the dial all the way up, and seeing if that helps.

I think he was talking about the "Door ajar" light on the instrument cluster...not just the dome lights...Though that's also a good idea..

Make sure the rear hatch is closed. I had the same problem when I got my Vibe.

I had the same problem when I got my Vibe.Same problem - if I don't slam the rear hatch shut, the door ajar light stays on, or blinks a bit if I go over a bump. I should probably complain about that and have it fixed, I just keep forgetting.
