will 20's fit with the right tires?

Post by damronjr »

I have a 2004 vibe that we just bought and I have a set of 20" Boss 308 rims with 35 tires that I want to put on it, but I don't know if they will fit. Anyone have any knowledge of this or advise. I can't get rid of the rims, so I have to put them on the Vibe or my 02 Ram.

What is the weight of you tire???If they are 175 (which I doubt cause 175/35R20 sounds very weard)they will have same diameter...Otherwise you speedometer will not be accurate.

i'm probably mistaken about the tire size. I think they are 235/55r20's. how does that sound and will they fit or do I need different tires? i know I need adapters since they came from my s-10 and the bolt patterns are different.

I wouldn't even bother....the clearance you'd get, if they did fit, wouldn't even allow you to hit a pot hole....Put 'em on the Ram.

Holy smokes No way will those tires work on this car.You are going from a 25" diameter to a 30" diameter!!! That means that when your speedo reads 60, you will actually be doing 73 mph!Even if you got your adapters and the speedo adjusted and somehow managed to squeeze them on, your acceleration would suffer. You could maybe do some 225/35-20 tires...they are only 5% off and they do make that size.Good luck!

Your ride would be really rough! Those are some small tires- and watch out for potholes!I would put them on the ram- or sell them and get some 18's or 19's for the Vibe

I agree that it will be very rough...However, I think the 19s will give you about the same ride as the 20s since they still use 225/35 tires.I hope that your Ram isn't a 4x4. It amazes me that people put 20"+ wheels on their 4x4s...but that is another issue

Okay, apparently the 20's won't work, and no the Ram isn't a 4x4, so they will just have to go on that. I will just have to save up and find some nice 19's then for the Vibe. I really like to go as big as possible just for the look. I figured as such since every pic I've seen of a Vibe has been with 19's or smaller. Oh well. Thanks for all of your input, it has been a lot of help.
