GM/Pontiac Dvd Based Navigation System

Post by LawMaker »

Hey All: Does anyone have the Navigation system option installed on there vibe? I want to get this option and had a few questions about the GM Nav system. A friend of mine has a Nav system in his car and his says things like "Turn left 100 feet ahead" and stuff like that, Does the GM Nav system talk as well? Is the GM Nav system easy to program with addresses and such? Can anyone tell me how there Nav system works as far as acuracy and everything. Peronsally im very excited about this option and I cant wait to get it but i wanted other people's opinions on it as well. Thank You

See page 2-5 of the manual for proof by clicking here to launch (it might take a moment on Dial-Up connections):http://www.mygmlink.com/pdf/go2content/ ... dfquote:Is the GM Nav system easy to program with addresses and such? Can anyone tell me how there Nav system works as far as acuracy and everything.I cannot answer that, being I don't have one. Another member with experience or that has the DVD Nav System can answer that for you. By the manual, it doesn't look overly complicated.More info:http://forums.genvibe.com/zerothread?id ... ead?id=720

An option like that would be nice, as they are offering that on alot more 2003+ GM vehicles (like the Sunfire surprisingly) that I have seen, as well as XM Radio (not on the Vibe until the 2004 model year more than likely).

LawmakerI got my vibe last monday with the nav in it and I love it. I made a trip to indiana last week and it was great it Talks you thru all the turns with promps just like your friends nav system. As for ease of programing I left the delership and the guys that preped the car were entered a destination in it and it took my wife 10 minutes to get the woman (nav not my wife) to stop talking to me. It did take a couple of days and some time in the car to get used to the nav joystick and the different menus. One week later it is now a piece of cake. The Nav is worth geeting and makes the car. It makes a great distraction while driving so be careful. It does not let you program it when you are moving. YOu'll love it. Let me know if you have any more questions. I am going to toronto soon and im looking forward to using it again.
