Installed Piaa Sport Horns

Just installed my Piaa Sports Horns the other day. Pretty easy install, but I put both horns on one side. I may go back and change that later.These horns sound and look great. They put out 115 db and were only $42 at Baxter Auto. Something different than the usual Hella horns and a bit cheaper too.

Yes...basically.I spliced the two positives on the horns together into a "insert thingy" and just plugged it into the factory harness. I soldered the two negatives wires onto the negative posts and connected them to the mounting bolt.I might have mounted the second horn onto the other side, but I was hesitant to drill and I didn't have the right size nut and bolt on hand.Anyone could do this mod. Hardest part is removing the stupid grill

After hearing the Vibe horn I pulled the old horn from my dodge neon and installed it along with the vibe horn. They sound good together, one high and one low pitch. Cost was 15 minutes and a 3M connector.

I did exactly the same install with dual Fiamm horns but I did not remove the grill. It was a real pain in the @$$ and it would probably have been easier to remove the grill. The horns are louder than my truck.

Wow!!!I contemplated not removing the grill, but I figured it was worth it to save some aggravation. now, i remember someone had gone to napa and bought a cheapy horn to replace their factory. does anyone remember who and what horn they got? I think it was only like $15 or something...

Hi Frosty...I got the FIAMM's that look similar... I'll take a few pics but what I did was attached them to the bumper (metal beam) so they aim out the bottom grill. There are 2 drilled holes evenly spaced on the underside of the bumper. I can't remember the size of bolts I used... I'd check that first, but they attached easily and look cool with the chrome grills showing through. I'll post pics if you'd like to see what I did.Dave

They can be set back a bit further so they can be somewhat shielded by the bumper itself though. I haven't had a problem yet with water being an issue even with many high-pressure spray washings. Just make sure you mount them how they recommend in a horizontal placement.Let me work on the pics today and I'll show you.Dave

Hi Frosty,Sorry this took so long to do. I thought I would wait for better weather then we got hit with snow & cold. Then thought I'd wait till it warmed up. Now it'snot suposed to get much over 20 for a few days so here they are... and it's snowing now ugh!This is the original instal on the top of the bumper. The horns themselves were hidden behind the bumper. The wiring for this version and the under the bumper version was tucked into a groove in the bumper so it was out of the way. Here is the new install and placement. The wiring was the same... now, as you can see, the horns blare out through the lower grill. oy, I hope this comes through... As for the bolt, I really can't remember the size. You'll just have to buy a few then return what doesn't work. There is a lock washer holding it on but it's not as secure as I'd like. I have to retighten at oil changes or so. It's not loose loose, but just not 100% tight either.Let me know if this helps at all.Dave
