Broken rear bumper brackets

Post by mrgoodrt »

I have tried (unsuccessfully) to find replacement rear bumper brackets for my '03 Vibe GT. I was not paying attention and my rear wheels went over the corner of a curb when it was about 10 degrees Fahrenheit outside, and that nice little drop from the curb to the street resulted in those two black brackets breaking off. Does anyone know where I could purchase these brackets?

Don't quite understand what brackets you mean...Can you take a picture of the broken ones, so I can see where they are?I have a parts list, can get you a price on them...

I had the same problem, except it was when the dealership was tking my GT off the Transport truck, The bumper "clips" were broken, i didn't notice it until i was cleaning my car and noticed the bumper had a lot of play in it. So I promptly took it to the dealership and said that i hadn't hit anything and i noticed it was loose. They tried to say that i had broken them and that i would have to pay for the clips + labor. I went off on them and told them where they could stick that, needless to say they fixed it without anymore hassle. the "clips" as the dealer called them are 2 black peices of plastic that hold the painted/moulding on to the actual bumper beneath the painted surface. They are the Lightest/easiest thing to break i've ever seen. It would have been $80us for parts and labor for the fix. hope this helps!
