Phone Number?

Post by msmyer »

This is crazy: 1) Key-in the first 3 digits of your phone number into the calculator (not the area code)2) Multiply by 80 3) Add 1 4) Multiply by 250 5) Plus last four digit of phone number 6) Plus last four digit of phone number again 7) Minus 250 8) Divide by 2 IS THIS YOUR PHONE NUMBER?

It's really not that difficult to see how it works:Do it without your phone number and see the numbers:Quote, originally posted by msmyer »This is crazy: 1) Key-in the first 3 digits of your phone number into the calculator (not the area code)2) Multiply by 80 3) Add 1 4) Multiply by 250 5) Plus last four digit of phone number 6) Plus last four digit of phone number again 7) Minus 250 8) Divide by 2 IS THIS YOUR PHONE NUMBER? 80 + 1 = 8181 * 250 = 2025020250 - 250 (takes away the extra 250 when you mult 81 (instead of 80) times 250 = 20000You added your last four digits twice, so now when you divide your answer by two, you get 10000. basically, in a round about way, you multiplied your first three digits by 10,000 and then added your last four digits.
