I had and played around with it, trying to educate myself on how to use it about a year ago, and made it dual boot so I could use either Linux or Windows. I had it working for a while, but messed something up and whacked it all and re-installed Win2000. I want to try it again, but just haven't had the time. From what I remember, Linux was great for surfing the internet, but there weren't any drivers/programs for my ATI all-in-wonder pro video card. The video card would work, but couldn't use any video capture.Funny....I was just thinking the other day I should d/l Redhat and give it another try.

I seen this on TechTV the other day. http://www.techtv.com/screensa....html You boot up from a CD and you don't have to install on your hardrive. Give it a try. Main source from this link. http://www.phlak.org/modules/news/

So that's a full Linux distro? It basically lets me run linux without having it on a hd?

Awesome! Downloading the iso now, eager to install it!I hear that "desktop=sneak0"y switch makes it look identical to XP! If that's the case, and I can actually learn this OS, I just might be switching to linux soon!Yikes, 471 MB! Didn't realize how big an iso i was dealing with here...lol...

Thanks (removed), I"m running PHLAK right now!!! It doesn't really "install" Linux on your H.D., just boots up off the CD. Cool!!! If you have broadband so you can download the *.iso image, and can burn it to a disk as an image, then change your bios to try to boot up on cd before your hard drive, it should work. Don't need to know anything about linux!!!!!! I didn't even have to make any setting changes to get my lan connected cable modem going. Just opened up the Mozilla browser and type in http://www.genvibe.com.

No problem. I'm going to try it out on the laptop and see how it performs. It's a good system to learn.
