Corolla TIX?

Post by JustinVGT »

Yesterday on my commute home from work, I drove by a Toyota Corolla TIX. I'm pretty sure the emblem on the rear said "TIX". I had never seen one before and Toyota does not list it on their website. It looks just like a regular 4 door new Corolla, only it was a wagon. It looked like a regular wagon, not our Vibe/Matrix crossover look. I remember seeing a VVT-i emblem on either the rear or front side, something I don't ever remember seeing on any Corollas. I think it would be cool to have a VVTL-i emblem on my GT. I did some searches on google, but could not find anything. Anyone heard or seen one of these Corollas? Just wondering.Later,

Yup, it was a complete regular wagon. I had never seen or heard of it before. I'm wondering if it is from overseas, but still, I could not find anything on google yet. It looked just like a new Corolla, but with a wagon back end.I saw it a few cars in front of me at first. I did not recognize the rear with a Toyota logo. As I got closer, I clearly saw the Corolla logo and then there were three letters which I'm pretty sure were TIX because I was thinking of MaTrIX. It also had a roof rack that ran the length of the roof like many wagons. I passed him and the front end looked like a regular new Corolla.Later,

Yeah, I remember the previous Corolla and Camry wagons. One thing I think the rear somewhat reminded me of the back of a Focus wagon, but it was no Ford for sure. Maybe it is a concept or test car, although not exactly sure why it would be here in Northen VA. I spotted it on RT 7 heading west in Sterling. Another thing is the driver was on the left side as usual. I also think I remember seeing regular VA license plates.

I know Toyota will release a more powerfull version of the Corolla, the Corolla GT-R, with the little less powerfull version of the VVTL-i engine (170hp instead of 180).

I think that may be it. I guess I remembered incorrectly the front and having the driver on the left side. I remember looking at the driver as I drove past, guess I didn't notice. Odd, in my head I thought the front was like the U.S. Corolla, but I see the side profile and rear of that British Corolla Estate look familiar. So, either I'm just remembering incorrectly about the TIX and driver side and it was a British model or there is some new model coming out. I'm leaning towards I just remembered incorrectly They have different models like a T Sport. Oh well, it was interesting seeing it.Later
