I might be getting rid of the Vibe!

Post by GT_03 »

Well, this is something that i knew would happen, but wasn't sure when. I found a new love. I went and looked at a WRX STI. It is truly unreal. I've nevre drove a factory car that was so fast. and with a few upgrades i could be running 4.6 seconds 0-60mph. Nothing is final yet cause i'm waiting on a few money issues i got to pan out, but after that i think a 300hp AWD is in my future.

I think that the purpose of a subaru impreza wrx sti is different than the purpose of a vibe, so if the subie is a better fit for your needs, go for it. Does look like fun. It's not the car for me though. Looks like the only thing you could haul in that car is a$$, which is great for some, but not as big of a priority for me.

Hey the Dodge SRT-4 has good performance 230horses for good price. Even though I never been a fan of a neon this car has a good price tag. Just a thought.

actually, the Subie does 0-60 in 4.6 stock. No upgrades necessary. Upgrades can get you 4.0. But anywho, yes, do it. I'm actually considering the very very same upgrade. I'm headed out of college and into my engineering job in a couple of months (needless to say, the paycheck is much larger than my current.)Your problem, GT, and mine, is that you'll lose your (removed) on a trade in or selling your vibe. Blue book on trade ins for 2k3 GT's is only 10 grand. I still owe much more than that. I hope you don't!but F the money, DO IT ANYWAY. I truly believe that the sti will be a collector's classic, much sought after in the future decades. Seriously, buy a piece of history!
Sold the vibe.Sorry, GM. I bought an Acura.

Thanks for the support. Well, i should be getting promoted real some and will be getting around $30,000 more a year. I do still owe like $16,000 on the darn Vibe, which sucks. I might try to pay it down first or even sell it privately. Well, see whats happens. I already started shopping around for the subie. Let's see HKS Exhaust here, Blitz BOV there. It's too easy.

Yeah, it has a better price tag, but from what I hear, quality and reliability of DC and subsidary products leave much to be desired...What good is a bargain if you make up for it in repairs....

Just curious, how could the STi with only 300hp/2.5L kill a 350hp/5.7L?I'm not doubting you, just confused how the STi boasts less power but can still beat the GTO?

4 wheel drive and less weight, with a turbo? (Turbo = BIG BIG thing)I wish I could remember, but isn't the GTO being credited with a 14 second or so quarter mile?I believe the STi runs a 13.2 stock or something really low like that. Anyone confirm?

Just my .02 cents Canadian. The WRX STI is everything it is cracked up to be and then some. Awesome power and speed, unbeatable quality, legendary for sure. But after all, it is still a 4 door sedan (with a big a$$ wing on the trunk). Not for me.

Hmmm, WRX is a worthy trade in plus they actually make body kits and turbos for them so you could turn it into a full blown monster.
