Advice needed for steel rim size

Post by gpaps »

I am currently looking for winter rims for my 04 base Vibe, and have found someone selling 1 year old steel rims that came off his 1996 Gand Am for 80$ CAD for all 4. He tells me the size is 15 X 6.6 - 100mm. Is this right, do I need additional info to get the right size for the Vibe (offset etc.)I don't know much about size. I also was looking into putting 195/65/15 on them, such as Dunlops Graspic DS-1 (Wal-Mart Canada has 'em for $85 CAD). Are they any good? Thanks and Happy New Year to all in this great forum!

So they won't fit Thanks for letting me know.$38 at Costco is a good price compared to others. Do you still have to buy a membership to purchase at Costco? I haven't been there in years. How do you find your Toyo's?

Where did you get your Toyo's and at what price if you don't mind me asking.I also saw the Arctic Alpin's for $85 instead of $125 at canadiantire.ca, but read other posts from you and fellow quebecers saying to avoid them.Personally the only experience I have is with Pirelli Winter Ice on my old BMW and they seem to go pretty well, but are too expensive.

I have the Dunlop Graspics on my Z-24.....I originally ordered them along with rims(From Wal-Mart) for the Vibe. The rims did'nt come in...So I had them put on my steel wheels for the Cavalier (Same size195/65/15). I ended up getting the rims and tires elsewhere for the Vibe. In Ottawa I had some difficulty finding the rims. (I did'nt check Costco). I ended up putting Hercules Winter tires on the Vibe. For the price, they are working well. The Dunlop's are better in Icy conditions, but I have a feeling they will wear faster. ANYTHING is better than the Goodyear RSA's in the snow!!! I found it funny that the steel wheels at Wal-Mart listed for the Vibe will also fit Dodge Shadow, Dynasty, Subaru Forester and several others including Corolla and Matrix...They really are universal(Probably not great) rims!

I have Graspic DS-1's and they are excellent in the snow, also very quiet on dry pavement. I don't know about tread wear yet as they only have about 2,000 km. on them.
