I found out why the manual doesn't mention the TheftLock system. Because the radios don't have it. A friend of mine works at a Chevy dealer and he was able to look up the service information for the Vibe Radios. Here is what it said in the section on theft deterrent:"The Radio has an LED that blinks whenever the ignition is OFF and acts as a pseudo theft deterrent"The light on my radio doesn't blink at all and there was no info on how to activate it. It would be nice to have even though it's just a flashing light. Might stop some people from trying to take it.

Your pic doesn't show. You need to have it on the web, not just your PC.BTW, your statement isn't true. My Vibe came from the factory with the base single-CD radio and it did have the TheftLock activated (red light blinked when the car was off). Part of my deal to buy the car was for the dealer to install the in-dash 6-disc system. About a week after I picked up the car the system was changed by the dealer but the new system did not operate the TheftLock. The dealer didn't know how to turn it on. Hopefully, I'll get the real story Sunday when I meet the engineers in Tarrytown, NY.
The light may blink but it is not TheftLock. Not sure how to get the picture to show but it shows the following under Theft Deterrent:"The Radio has an LED that blinks whenever the ignition is OFF and acts as a pseudo theft deterrent"To me that says the light is only for looks and is not an actual security system. I emailed you the file so you could see it and possibly post it to the forum.

Interesting. Well, I guess a pseudo theft deterrent is better than none. I'll find out why when I visit with the GM engineers this Sunday. Thanks.BTW, I uploaded the document to my website. Here it is:Do you have the other 7 pages?
Yes I have the rest. I'll scan them and email them to you. Also, you may want to ask them why they advertise the TheftLock on their website and in their brochures if the radios don't have it.

This radio appears to be the same as past Delco systems I've had. The light will only flash once the security is activated on the headunit. Typically you enter a PIN number into the headunit which is required if the unit is installed in another vehicle. I had to do something odd to activate this feature, but it will work. I sold the unit in my past vehicle and the buyer couldn't use it until I gave them the PIN.
threadsurrection level = 89 monthsThe other day, I got an IM from a new member asking me about this, and based on his model year Vibe, I told him that the early Vibes did not have any theftlock, you can unplug and replug them all you want and not lock up the radio.I know from personal experience that this is true for 2003, 2004, and 2005 models, and I'd bet money that it's the same for 2006, 2007, and 2008 models because those year Vibes lack the bus infrastructure to support theftlock that other GM cars have. I don't know about the 2009 or 2010 model s though, never even touched one.So, can anyone say from personal experience if the 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009, or 2010 models incorporate any radio antitheft device that would engage if the radio is completely unplugged and then reconnected?also, and off topic, let me just say for the record that I really don't like when people who haven't ever posted in the forums IM me with questions. The reason why we have a forum is for questions and answers to be shared publicly and preserved, so that the next time someone has the same question, the answer is already available.
